Microsoft India chief on AB Volvo board likely

Bangalore, April 2 The Microsoft Corporation India Chairman, Mr Ravi Venkatesan, has been proposed for a directorship on the board of AB Volvo.

A press statement from AB Volvo said in preparation of the annual general meeting of AB Volvo on April 9, 2008, Volvo’s election committee has received confirmation of candidacy from Mr Venkatesan, who accordingly is proposed by the election committee to become a new member of the board of directors.

Mr Venkatesan, 45, is the chairman of Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt Ltd, and is responsible for its activities in the country.
