‘We have got trainers from the US to train our partners and customers here’.

Coimbatore, April 4 Network security solutions provider WatchGuard Technologies has led the way in hardware-based firewall, according to its Country Manager Mr Sunil Sapra.

“The company pioneered the creation of the plug-and-play Internet security appliance. Our Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution leverages security heritage and technology leadership. WatchGuard’s layered defenc approach can be tailored to fit the needs of every enterprise, regardless of size,” Mr Sapra explained.

WatchGuard has completed more than 5,000 installations over the past 7 years.

Stating that the company has positioned itself in this space at the right time, he said “UTM is registering a double digit growth. In 2007, we recorded a growth of 70 per cent as compared to the earlier year and we are looking towards achieving a 100 per cent growth this year.”

How confident is Mr Sapra of achieving this growth? “Every organisation spends phenomenal amounts on applications, servers and space, and all this would have to be secured from outside threat. UTM is expected to grow faster than the IT industry growth,” he said.

To double its growth WatchGuard would continue to invest in training its customers and partners. “We have got trainers from the US to train our partners and customers here. We organised a 3-day training programme in March and propose to conduct a similar one in May,” he said. The company is contemplating partner-friendly incentive schemes, Mr Sapra added.
