Hyderabad, April 5 Goldstone Technologies Ltd, the Hyderabad-based technology services provider, has announced plans to expand its Internet protocol television (IPTV) services branded TV Origin to 11 more countries alongside the rollout in Andhra Pradesh in partnership with BSNL.

The Chief Operating Officer of Goldstone, Mr Rajesh Kalidindi, said that the company now offers services in Thailand and was gearing up to offer them in 11 other countries including Malaysia, Germany and France.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Rajesh said that the company is in the process of finalising local partners to offer IPTV services, which apart from offering about nearly 60 channels, would serve more than 7,000 movies on demand. The movie pool makes this service a specialised one.

The company is also in the process of completing its test rollout of IPTV services in partnership with BSNL in Andhra Pradesh and expects to offer these services in Hyderabad and some select towns in the State by the second half of this year.

While the service comes with a monthly rental of Rs 50, the set-top box will be offered at a monthly rental of Rs 30. Any home with a BSNL broadband connection can access this to view the range of movies served to them on demand for about Rs 30 for 24 hours.

The company has the capacity to offer over 2,000 Telugu movies and a collection of over 3,500 Hollywood movies.

Referring to the Media division of Goldstone, Mr Rajesh said that it has thus far restored over 29 Telugu films, four Tamil and five Kannada films and expects to offer them for screening in theatres across the country.

The company has registered revenues of Rs 100 crore last year and expects to touch Rs 500 crore with IPTV and other media services, Mr Rajesh said.
