New Products & Services States - Maharashtra Radio City 91.1 FM launched in Pune Our Bureau Pune, April 10 Pune got its second private FM radio station with the launch of Radio City 91.1 FM service on Thursday. This is the 18th Radio City station in the country to become operational, and is part of the second and final phase of expansion of FM radio for promoters Music Broadcast Private Ltd (MBPL) who had acquired a licence for 20 cities. Mr Rana Barua, national head for programming and marketing, Radio City, said that “melodious, contemporary adult music” would be the factor that would distinguish them from competitors. “Our target audience is anyone who is at least a graduate,” he said. The last two destinations in the present expansion map are Jalgaon and Nanded where the service will be launched over the next two months, Mr Rana said, adding that there was no plan to acquire any more licences as of now. The Pune station of Radio City will operate round-the-clock and have live service from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The programme content includes a medley of music, contests, talk shows, events, humour and gossip. Launched in 2000 in Bangalore, Radio City has operations in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Vadodara, Surat, Sholapur, Nagpur, Sangli, Coimbatore, Vizag, Ahmednagar and Akola.
