Thiruvananthapuram, April 11 The city-based Magic Academy in association with Kerala Tourism will organise an international magic festival in Thiruvananthapuram in May.

Called ‘Vismayam 2008’, the event will be held at several venues in the city, said Dr Venu V., Secretary Tourism, Government of Kerala, and Mr Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, Magic Academy, at a press conference in the city on Friday. Over 1,000 magicians, including 100-plus magicians from outside India, are scheduled to take part in the event, they added. Traditional street magic performances, magic competitions, magic demonstrations and a mass magic show are some of the highlights of the event.

‘Vismayam 2008’ will be preceded by several curtain raiser events over four days, starting from April 27. These events will be kicked-off with a ‘burning illusion’ escape stunt featuring film actor Mohanlal.
