Madurai-Dindigul doubling work

Madurai, April 11

The Madurai-Dindigul doubling work covering 61 km would be completed by June this year, according to Mr Hemant Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Madurai. The first phase between Dindigul and Kodaikanal Road section would be completed this month and the stretch between Kodaikanal Road and Madurai would be completed by June, he said while delivering the presidential address at the 53rd Railway Week Celebrations held here on Friday. The division has been handling 67,500 passengers and 5,600 tonnes of goods per day. The earnings stood at Rs 336 crore in 2007-08. - Our Correspondent
