Advertising Variety - Sports Mumbai Indians ropes in Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan Our Bureau Mumbai, April 14 Indian Premier League’s Mumbai Indians, led by Sachin Tendulkar, has launched its mega campaign with Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. Mumbai Indians, which has branded its Fan Club MI Paltan, has used Hrithik in it promotional advertisement campaign. In the film, created by Mr Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and National Creative Director, O&M, Hrithik is shown singing the theme song Duniya Hila Denge as he leads the MI Paltan in support of Sachin Tendulkar and the team. Mr R. Balachandran, Director of Indiawin Sports, promoters of the Mumbai Indians, said: “The leadership qualities of the Mumbai Indians, encapsulated in the iconic Sachin, find a true echo in Hrithik’s intensity and power. Powerful performances, on the screen and on the cricket field, are what people will see from the Mumbai Indians. And the Mumbai Indians look forward to the support of all their fans at the grounds to cheer them as they step out to win for Mumbai”. At the same time, the marketing arm of Mumbai Indians has tied up with Yash Raj’s next big release Tashan which stars Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. This entitles the Mumbai Indians to run a special promo featuring the four stars in conjunction with four cricketing stars of the Mumbai team — Sachin, Sanat, Harbhajan and Robin. On the marketing campaign, Mr Kaushik Roy – Director, IndiaWin Sports, said, “Coinciding with our sale of tickets, we have a high decibel campaign that treats this tournament like a mega event that will shake up people to show their true team loyalty. We are doing a 360 degree campaign with innovative promotions and tie ups that we would deploy for any large consumer campaign. This is only the beginning, there will be more to follow.” The first match of the Mumbai Indians will be against the Bangalore Royal Challengers at the Wankhede Stadium on April 20.
