Global meet on tubes output from April 25

The Indian Institute of Metals will conduct an international workshop on ‘Tubes and Pipes – Production and Processing’ here on April 25 and 26.

The Local Chapter of the institute will organise the event in association with BHEL, Tiruchi, at the National Institute of Technology – Tiruchi, a press release said.

According to the organisers, the aim of the workshop is to help the industry in adopting new technology and also upgrade to the latest high productive processes to produce high quality products.

Eminent personalities from the US, Finland, France, Austria and Israel, besides India, will present papers on various topics, including latest manufacturing process of seamless and ERW (Electric Resistant Welding) tubes; latest high temperature material for pipes and tubes; automatic tube bending for serpentine coils; induction bending of large pipes; high productive process for water wall panel manufacture; online NDT (Non Destructive Testing) techniques; hydro forming of tubular components and other latest technology in manufacturing; line pipe welding; and erosion and corrosion prevention of tubes and pipes.
