Infosys capex plans

Chennai, April 15

Infosys Technologies sees capital expenditure of $250- $300 million (Rs 100- 120 crore) this fiscal, with a majority of investments being made in India. Mr S.D. Shibulal, Chief Operating Officer, Infosys Technologies, elaborated during a conference call with analysts. The company will start work in setting up centres in Mysore, Mangalore, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram and expand centres in Chandigarh, Pune (from 2,500 to 10,000 seats), Chennai (second phase of the SEZ facility will house 10,000 employees) and Bhubaneshwar. Commenting on the performance of centres outside India, he said China would continue to make losses this fiscal and had currently accumulated losses of about $3 million.
