Outlook Coca-Cola India sees double-digit growth Our Bureau Chennai, April 16 The Indian growth story for Coca-Cola India continues to be robust as the first quarter results of The Coca-Cola Co show that in India, unit case volume increased 13 per cent in the quarter, outpacing growth in the US market and overall growth worldwide. A company press release says that worldwide unit case volume went up 6 per cent for the first quarter and in the US operations unit case volume was up 7 per cent. A unit case comprises 24 bottles of eight ounces each. The results say that in India double-digit unit case volume growth in its flagship Coca-Cola and still beverages in the quarter led to continued share gains in both sparkling and still beverage categories. A spokesman for Coca-Cola India confirmed that it was the seventh straight quarter of double-digit growth for the Indian affiliate. “We have begun 2008 successfully, with another solid quarter consistent with our overriding objective of creating long-term sustainable growth,” the release quotes the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Neville Isdell.
