Within two weeks of the introduction of new UK immigration rules, as many as 76 visa applicants in India were banned from the UK. “The new rules that came into force on April 1, prevent people who have previously broken the UK’s immigration laws — for example by entering the UK illegally, working illegally, staying beyond the duration of their visa or using deception in a visa application — from coming to the UK for a fixed period,” a release by British High Commission said. —
