Rolta Q4 net up 44% at Rs 65.72 cr

Mumbai, April 17 Geospatial and engineering solutions company Rolta Ltd has reported a 44.3 per cent rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 to Rs 65.72 crore as against Rs 45.54 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. On a quarter on quarter-on-quarter basis, the company saw a 9.1 per cent surge in net profit.

Total revenues of the company increased by 55.3 per cent to Rs 288.37 crore (Rs 185.59 crore). Sequentially, revenues rose by 19.3 per cent.

Mr K.K. Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, said that the company was unaffected by the turmoil in developed economies such as the US. “Around 55-60 per cent of our revenues come from our domestic business. Moreover, the geospatial and engineering space have been seeing healthy growth across the globe,” Mr Singh told Business Line.

Rolta Thales Ltd (RTL), the company’s joint venture with Thales, has made significant progress in introducing various new technologies to the Indian Defence segment, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.

The Rolta scrip was up by 1.77 per cent to close at Rs 310.45 on the BSE today.
