Events States - Kerala USAID workshop for women Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram, April 18 The US Agency for International Development (USAID), in cooperation with Energy Management Centre (EMC) of Kerala, is holding a five-day workshop on clean and efficient-energy management for South Asian women. Delegates from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, apart from India, will participate in this workshop which is being held from April 21 to 25. The workshop, part of the USAID South Asia regional Initiative for Energy (SARI/Energy), will provide female professionals working in the energy sector in the region an opportunity to exchange ideas and share best practices in energy conservation and efficiency, according to a statement from EMC. The participants will learn methods for providing low-cost efficient energy to the urban and rural poor with the specific focus on women because of their unique role in the household energy sector. EMC as a knowledge partner of the workshop will make on-site and off-site presentations on its ‘Energy Clinic’, the women-specific energy efficiency project that is live in Kerala. The workshop will provide a platform for designing and implementing such other women-specific energy projects for the participating countries. More Stories on : Events | Power | Gender | Kerala
