ICSI strengthens members' skills
Hyderabad, April 18
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
will help its members to strengthen their skills to act
as specialist insolvency practitioners, according to Mr
Keyoor Bakshi, President. Speaking to reporters on the
sidelines of a one-day seminar on the `Era of
Infrastructure: Opportunities and Threats' organised by
ICSI, Hyderabad chapter here on Friday, Mr Bakshi said
the new company law to be passed by the Parliament
would rationalise and simplify procedures for capital
reduction and restructuring.
"This would enhance the scope of practice of company secretaries. Further, the
recognition to the contractual mergers would offer
greater role for the company secretaries in mergers and
acquisitions," he said. The new company law was
proposing strict liabilities and penalties for any deviation
from the regulations and practices. - Our Bureau
