‘CRR hike will Moderate prices’

New Delhi, April 18

The Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, on Friday said the RBI move to raise cash reserve ratio by fifty basis points will have moderating impact on prices.

“It will have a moderating impact on prices. It will take some time, don’t expect miracles,” Mr Chidambaram told reporters on the sideline of coin release function here. The RBI on Thursday evening announced a 50 basis point CRR hike, aimed at tackling inflation.
