President, Applied Materials India

Bangalore, April 21

Applied Materials Inc has said Dr. Madhusudan V. Atre joined the company as president of Applied Materials India, and will be responsible for strategy and operations throughout India. Dr. Atre will oversee alignment, coordination and execution of all business and operational activities in the region, the company said. Most recently, Dr. Atre served as vice president and managing director of LSI India operations, part of LSI Corp.

Applied Materials has about 1,500 employees and contractors in India, with offices in Bangalore, New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. The company provides equipment, service and software products for the fabrication of semiconductor chips, flat panel displays, solar photovoltaic cells, flexible electronics and energy efficient glass.–
