Financial Performance Corporate Results - Hardware HCL Info net dips on higher taxation
Our Bureau New Delhi, April 24 HCL Infosystems Ltd today said it has registered a 7.4 per cent drop in its consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended March 2008, to Rs 81.48 crore, on account of a higher incidence of taxation incurred at its Pondicherry manufacturing unit. The company’s gross sales rose to Rs 3,017.47 crore during the period under review against Rs 2,954.25 crore in the same period of the previous year, on a consolidated basis. For the quarter January to March, the tax expense stood at Rs 32 crore compared to Rs 15 crore in the year-ago period. The profit before tax for the quarter was Rs 113.5 crore – taking the year-to-date nine months gross profit to Rs 334.6 crore, a growth of 10 per cent over the same period of the previous year. “The gross revenue from computer systems business during the quarter was Rs 841.4 crore, taking the nine-month revenue to Rs 2,512.4 crore, a growth of 29 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous year,” an HCL statement said. The revenues from telecommunication and office automation business during the quarter were Rs 2,183.8 crore, taking the nine months revenue to Rs 6,944.6 crore. Interim dividendThe board of directors has declared quarterly third interim dividend of Rs 2 a share (100 per cent on an equity share of par value of Rs 2 each).
