Madurai, April 25

The Madurai Module of State Bank of India (SBI) Life (Bancassurance) has retained the number one position at All-India level in mobilising business for the second year in succession. During 2007-08, the group consisting of 30 Certified Insurance Facilitators (CIFs) has collected a premium of Rs 54.36 crore. About 18 of the CIFs who mobilised a premium collection ranging from more than Rs 27 lakh to Rs 162 lakh and above in a calendar year, selected by Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), an international association of insurance professionals, were honoured at a Star Award Night Festival held at Mumbai on April 21. The awards were presented by Mr O.P. Bhat, Chairman, SBI, and Mr Eric Lombard, Chairman, BNP Paribas Ltd., France, the joint venture partner in SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd., according to Mr B.J.A. Jesudoss, Co-ordinator, SBI Life Madurai Module. —Our Correspondent
