`vtap' service for mobile users

Bangalore, April 29

Mobile phone users can now have a new search process in refining it to their choice video in a simple and easy way. The process `vtap', developed by an Indian team of Veveo Inc, enables mobile users reach their result through a unique character-based search that cuts the cumbersome browsing.

Announcing the launch of `vtap' in India, Mr Murali Aravamudan, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Veveo told mediapersons here on Tuesday, there are hundreds of millions of videos available on the Web today and more than half a million get added everyday. He said most web video services were desktopbased and not designed for the mobile or television user.

Mr Aravamudan also announced securing $7.8 million venture capital funding from Mr Promod Haque, Managing Partner of Norwest Venture Partners. The investment will help Veveo expand into the lucrative Indian market.
