Outlook Aventis Pharma brings new insulin pen Our Bureau Mumbai, April 30 Aventis Pharma Ltd (APL), part of the Sanofi-Aventis Group, is set for more action in the local market, including acquisitions, partnerships and development of pharma compounds, said Dr Shailesh Ayyangar, APL’s Managing Director. The company has just brought into India SoloStar, its pre-filled disposable insulin pen for use with its 24-hour insulin Lantus. The product’s entry into the local market comes within 16 months of its global launch. Priced at Rs 884, the device would be on par with Optiset, he said. Optiset disposable pen and Autopen from Owen Mumford are the two other delivery devices that Sanofi-Aventis has for Lantus. Since insulin is under price-control in the country, the price of SoloStar is approved by the Government, he said. About 34 per cent of the company’s products come under price control, he added. SoloStar is imported from Germany, though it attracts no customs duty. Aventis set to launch disposable insulin pen More Stories on : Outlook | Pharmaceuticals
