MphasiS Q1 profit up at Rs 71 cr

Bangalore, May 1

MphasiS, an EDS company, reported a 31 per cent increase in revenue for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, to Rs 658 crore. For the period, net profit was Rs 71 crore, compared with Rs 63 crore in the year-ago quarter, the company said in a statement. During the quarter, the group added 17 new clients, Mphasis said. It recorded a net headcount increase of 811, taking the total employee strength to 27,047, the company added. For the full year, net profit increased to Rs 225 crore from Rs 180 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, Mphasis said. Revenue increased 38 per cent to Rs 2,423 crore.
