Medical Institutions & Hospitals States - Tamil Nadu Tie-up with ISRO for telemedicine Coimbatore, May 1 The Coimbatore-based G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial (GKNM) Hospital and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have entered into an agreement for tele-medicine link up. The facility was kickstarted by the former President, Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, at a function organised here to mark the Golden Jubilee year of the hospital's cancer centre - the Valavadi Narayanaswamy Cancer Centre. Mr Kalam also declared open GKNM's new `Cancer Care' block. `GKNM hospital should consider establishment of a rural cancer hospital in the interior area of Coimbatore district,' Mr Kalam said. He called upon the medical fraternity to combine psychotherapy along with the conventional medical management in treating cancer patients since the suffering often engulfed the entire family and the emotional trauma is intense. - Our Bureau More Stories on : Medical Institutions & Hospitals | Tamil Nadu | Science & Technology
