Personal Products P&G Hygiene & Health Care Q3 profit rises 28% Our Bureau Mumbai, May 1 Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd (PGHHCL) has recorded a 28 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 27.4 crore from Rs 21.4 crore for the third quarter ending in March. Sales upThe FMCG major achieved total sales of Rs 150.50 crore (Rs 125.3 crore), which grew by 20 per cent during the same quarter. This growth was led by a strong performance of both of the feminine hygiene and healthcare businesses. While feminine hygiene business posted a 23 per cent growth (sales of Rs 87.4 crore against Rs 71.3 crore last year), healthcare sales at Rs 62.6 crore grew by 17 per cent versus last year’s Rs 53.5 crore. Vicks, Whisper growthMr Shantanu Khosla, Managing Director said, “Our continuing double digit growth on both Whisper and Vicks is driven by strong consumer meaningful innovation backed by distribution growth and strong advertising support. “We continue to build trial of Whisper via innovative direct marketing programmes. “We will continue to focus on meeting the consumer where she is most receptive and with propositions that delight her.” In the nine-month period ended March 31, 2008, the healthcare and feminine hygiene sales at Rs 503.6 crore, grew by 18 per cent.
