R.S. Sharma is NTPC chief

New Delhi, May 1

Mr R.S. Sharma has taken over as the new Chairman and Managing Director of State-owned NTPC Ltd, the country's largest power generator. Mr Sharma, who was working as Director (Commercial) in NTPC since October 2004, has a 37-year experience in the power sector behind him. A mechanical engineering graduate from Government Engineering College, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Mr Sharma started his career in Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board. He joined NTPC in February 1980 at the Korba Super Thermal Power Station. - Our Bureau
