LOYALTY INITIATIVE

Our Bureau

Bangalore, May 7

Now, loyalty points for no-loyalty. i-mint, a multiple partner consumer rewards programme, promoted by Loyalty Solutions and Research Ltd has initiated a talent referral programme with Global Talent Metrics where every successful online referral will be rewarded with points from i-mint.

These in turn can be redeemed for rewards (gift vouchers, jewellery, appliances and electronics) from i-mint partners and other merchants.

Called StarReferral, the Web-based talent referral system involves participating organisations posting their jobs online which is accessed by about five million i-mint members.

These members in turn can refer any of their friends/associates/relatives to the company and get paid with i-mint points as a reward across several stages of the referral process.

Advantages of having a StarReferral programme over other referral programmes within the company is that it allows organisations to get referrals from people outside the organisation, thus, providing companies to source talent faster and from a wider network of individuals.

“Offering i-mint points instead of cash incentives also allows companies to run multi-stage programmes and frees them from the administrative challenges and legal issues of disbursing cash,” said Mr Cabot Jaffe, Chairman, Global Talent Metrics, at the launch of the programme.

The system would pose competition to traditional recruitment firms as referrals would be about 60-70 per cent less expensive than the fee charged by them (recruiters).

StarReferral has been piloted in companies such as Yahoo India, Xerox, Fidelity, Hansen Transmissions in the country and Global Metrics is looking at tying up with a few more tech companies in the next few weeks, Mr Jaffe said.
