CII to open office in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, June 6

The Confederation of Indian Industry is setting up an office here and planning to launch a steel cluster, according to Mr Utpal Sen Gupta, Chairman, CII, AP. At a press meet here on Friday, he said Vizag was one of the tier-two cities the CII was attaching much importance to, in view of its potential and fast growth during the past few years, and accordingly several programmes would be taken up to promote Vizag as an IT destination and industrial centre. Mr C.G. Patil, Cha irman of CII, Vizag zone and Director (Commercial) of the Vizag steel plant, spoke about the potential for developing downstream units and ancillaries with the aid of the Vizag steel plant.
