The “YES Community” will organise events for children as well as adults at the bank’s branches on sub-themes to prevent pollution, recycle and minimise waster conserve energy, conserve water and improve sanitation and cleanliness.

The events would involve activities for learning about recycling, rain-water harvesting as well outdoor events like clean-up drives and testing water for pollution levels.

Mr Somak Ghosh, President, Corporate Finance and Development Banking, YES Bank, said that there would be two such events per month at each of the bank’s 67-strong branch network.

“The cost of each event works out to be around Rs 50,000,” he said. The bank plans to work with NGOs across the country for organising these events.

“Apart from customers, we also hope to involve residents in the locality as well as shop owners in the vicinity of the branches,” said Ms Rita Soni, Country Head, Responsible banking, YES Bank.

To begin with, the bank has partnered with Isha Foundation’s Project Green Hands, which promotes mass tree planting through people’s participation.
