AP bankers' meet on debt waiver

Hyderabad, June 6

The State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) of Andhra Pradesh started exercise for implementation of Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme 2008 for farmers. At a meeting the representatives of the banks, the President of SLBC and Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Bank, Dr K. Ramakrishnan, said the estimated amount of debt waiver and relief scheme would be in the tune of Rs 12,700 crore in the State covering 83 lakh farmers. He asked the banks to speed up the implementation of the scheme. Representatives from different banks attended the meet, according to a release. - Our Bureau
