The sub-committee comprises officials of six banks having lead bank responsibility in the State, SLBC Convener and representatives of the Reserve Bank and the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard). At a meeting of the Steering Committee of the SLBC on the debt relief scheme held here the other day, it was informed that all the banks in the State had been working out the details of eligible farmers and loan accounts for debt waiver as well as debt relief as envisaged in the guidelines of the scheme issued by the Union Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank, according to a statement from SLBC. The list of eligible farmers and details of the debt waived or relief extended will be published at all the bank branches by June 30. The farmers can verify the list at their bank branches and grievances, if any, can be submitted to the bank’s Grievance Redressal Officer. The decision of the Grievance Redressal Officer will be final, which will be taken within a period of 30 days. The meeting reviewed the various aspects of the preparedness on the part of the banks in the State and the progress in the implementation of the scheme. More Stories on : Farm credit | Kerala
