BoI opens branch in Glasgow

Mumbai, June 15

Bank of India has opened a branch in Glasgow, Scotland. According to a press release, Bank of India is the first Indian bank to set up a branch in Scotland. It has 10 branches in Europe and 27 branches and offices globally. The release said that the bank plans to open branches in Beijing, New Zealand, Johannesburg, Canada, Tanzania and Madagascar. It also plans to open representative offices in Dubai and Cairo. International business contributes around 20 per cent of the b ank’s business and 17 per cent of its profit. —
