Korean Air tops cargo list

Korean Air topped the list of air cargo carriers for the fourth consecutive year in 2007, according to the World Air Transport Statistics compiled by the International Air Transport Association. In 2007, Korean Air recorded 9.4 billion ftk (freight tonne kilometres), followed by Lufthansa Cargo and Cathay Pacific. The same year, the carrier launched new cargo routes to Moscow, Houston, Xiamen and Munich in addition to increasing frequencies to Shanghai and Tianjin. To acco mmodate growing cargo inflow, Koran Air has added to its cargo handling capacity at its Incheon hub by increasing Terminal One’s annual capacity to 1.35 mt from 1.03 mt and setting up a new terminal with an annual capacity of 2.6 lakhtonnes.
