Spot rubber rules firm

Kottayam, June 30 Physical rubber prices finished higher on Monday. RSS 4 improved further to Rs 131.50 from Rs 131 a kg during the previous weekend.

The grade hit Rs 133 a kg on early trades as Japanese indices ruled firm during the morning session.

But the market lost its charm as TOCOM fell back followed by broad selling at higher levels on late trading

A leading tyre manufacturer procured sheet rubber at Rs 132 a kg according to informed circles.

Supply concerns continued to haunt the main marketing centres.

RSS 3 (spot) improved to Rs 140.42 (139.73) a kg at Bangkok spot.

But the grade fell sharply at its July futures to ¥340.4 (Rs 139.03) from ¥350,a kg at TOCOM.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 131.50 (131); RSS-5: 130 (129.50); ungraded: 127.50 (127); ISNR 20: 130 (130) and latex 60 per cent: 89 (89).
