Mumbai, June 30 Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro Ltd has bagged a Rs 1,557-crore order for supply of a steam turbine generator of 2 x 800 MW to Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station at Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This project is developed by Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Ltd. L&T said this was the first order for supercritical 800MW steam turbine generator island (including auxiliaries) in the country. The order includes engineering, pro curement, manufacture and commissioning, besides performance guarantee tests of the generators and auxiliaries. The generators will be supplied by L&T-MHI Turbine Generators Pvt Ltd, a joint venture company set up by L&T and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Japan, for manufacturing supercritical steam turbines and generators in India.
