KCCI to create AIDS awareness

Mangalore, June 30

The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has entered into collaboration with Population Services International (PSI) to create AIDS awareness at workplace. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr K. Narasimha Prabhu, President of KCCI, said this initiative is a first between a district chamber and PSI. KCCI has established a dedicated HIV/AIDS cell to conduct regular orientation programmes to educate members. Five companies have already enrolled with KCCI for HIV/AIDS and TB training. Mr Ravi Subbiah, Team Leader, PSI-Connect, said that vulnerability of the industrial and informal sector workforce to HIV/AIDS is highly underestimated. This collaboration will pave way for a healthy and productive workforce. —
