Singapore to host global vegoil meet

Mumbai, July 1 September is when the crop conditions in the northern hemisphere would be considerably clear and the world agri-businesses will begin to make their marketing plans for the ensuing season.

In order to facilitate strategic inputs for the global vegetable oil sector and related industries, a World Oils and Oilseeds Convention 2008 has been organised during September 9-11 in Singapore.

Mr Jim Rogers, well-known investment guru and author of the famous book Hot Commodities, will be the star attraction at the convention, Mr Allan Au-Yong of Ground Breakers, the event organisers, told Business Line. Other expert speakers include Dr James Fry of LMC International, Mr Dorab Mistry, Godrej International, and Dr Jeffery Brown, FACTS Global Energy.

Attracting attention

The convention is slated to discuss numerous issues of production, processing, marketing and prices. Shipping and logistics will also receive attention. In addition, the relationship between crude oil and vegetable oil market and the impact of the former will be explored by experts.
