Spot rubber rules steady

Kottayam, July 1 Domestic rubber prices were steady on Tuesday. The market failed to regain strength in tune with the global indices as there were no quantity buyers to procure the raw material, sources said.

RSS 4 closed flat at Rs 131.50 a kg as on Monday. The volumes were thin.

Meanwhile, intensified monsoon has been reported from all over the plantation areas putting further pressure on latex production. RSS 3 improved further to Rs 141.19 (140.42) a kg at Bangkok spot. The July contract for the grade finished higher at ¥341.7 (Rs.140.48) against ¥340.4, August at ¥342.9 (340.2), September at ¥344.5 (341.6), October at ¥345 (341.4), November at ¥346.3 (343.6) and December at ¥348.8 (345.7) a kg at TOCOM.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 131.50 (131.50); RSS-5: 130 (130); ungraded: 127.50 (127.50); ISNR 20: 130 (130) and latex 60 per cent: 89 (89).
