It’s Fun@Work for Satyam staff

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, July 3 IT services provider Satyam Computer on Thursday announced the launch of SatyamStarPower.com, a web portal designed to showcase the creative talent of its globally dispersed workforce.

Referred to as Fun@Work, the corporate-wide initiative seeks to engage all its employees allowing them to express their creative talent be it in the form of writing, singing, dancing or even painting.

The interactive portal allows other Satyamites, irrespective of their location, to be part of the fun and entertainment taking place in any part of the world within the company.

The Chief Executive Officer of Satyam, Mr B. Rama Raju, after the launch of the initiative, in a statement said, being a global company, this initiative connects everyone irrespective of their location, and has a huge communication potential going forward.

The portal powered by iTalent brings reality-contest-like experience for the company associates. iTalent is a voice and visual-enabled Internet programme that enables users to participate in online contests. iTalent is powered by Hyderabad based start-up and product company NowPos.

The Head of Fun@Work, Associates Relationship at Satyam, Mr Pradeep Kondiparthi, said this will initially connect Satyam’s 51,000-plus associates. The project highlights work is no longer a one dimensional activity. The events hosted here serve as stress busters which help achieve higher objectives.

NowPos technology

The Chief Executive Officer of NowPos (for now possible), Mr Ayyappa Nagabandi, told Business Line that this project is built on the company platform that brings interactivity over the Internet.

Having successfully deployed for Satyam, NowPos is in the process of implementing and negotiating with 15 more enterprises, which includes good number of IT firms.

Last year, the company had launched a reality show ‘India Ka Hero,’ a contest aimed at spotting talent. The idea came out of the fact that given the large population in India, all the TV reality shows would not be sufficient to host all participants.
