Sphinx Adonis sets up event management retail store


The retail store would offer theme-based packages starting from Rs 500 onwards.

Pune, July 4 The Pune-based Sphinx Adonis Events Pvt Ltd., an event management company, on Friday launched its umbrella brand ‘Eventwala’ to cater to the various segments in event management. It has also launched the Event management academy today.

Talking to presspersons, Mr Vikram Waghray and Mr Dheeraj Waghray, co-founders, Sphinx Adonis, said for the first time, the event management services would be provided in a retail format and would be a one-stop shop for all events and parties. The retail store would offer theme-based packages starting from Rs 500 onwards. It would also blend sales, rentals and service models to provide decorations, accessories, food and music as per the theme and would also be equipped with an interactive kiosk that would showcase to the customer the theme party package. The first of its store is to be opened on July 11 at Wanowrie and the second would be in the Pimpri Chinchwad area. It plans to open 15 retail outlets in Pune and 100 in Maharashtra, he said. The Pune outlets would take about six months, he said. The stores would be in the company owned company operated (COCO) and company owned and franchisee operated (COFO) format. Out of the 15, about 20 per cent would be in the COCO format, he said. He said it is also looking at manufacturing the merchandise and talks have already been initiated for land in Ranjangaon with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation.

Academy

Mr Vikram said the Academy has come up with the association of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) and would offer certificate courses in corporate training and event business. Along with this, it would also offer full time as well as part time courses in sectors such as sports management to wedding planning.

The duration of these specialised courses would vary from two months to a year with the course fee ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 1.25 lakh and added that strength in each batch would be around 30 students.

The event management market is around Rs 900 crore and is estimated to touch Rs 1,900 crore by 2010. It is growing at a CAGR of 16 per cent per annum.
