Suven to present key biology data on Alzheimer’s

Hyderabad, July 7 Hyderabad-based Suven Life Sciences will make presentations on its portfolio of new chemical entities (NCEs) in tackling Alzheimer’s disease at the upcoming International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease (ICAD).

The company has promising investigational neuroscience candidates against the brain related disease, affecting especially the aged.

Its scientists would present some significant findings at the ICAD to be held in Chicago, US during July 27-31.

The conference

ICAD is the bi-annual conference of the Alzheimer’s association and more than 10, 000 neuroscientists, clinicians and corporates from all over the world covering all the major Pharma and Academic research Institutions would attend this meeting.

Suven would present the key biology data in animal models of SUVN-502, a potent, selective, brain penetrant and orally active candidate for the symptomatic treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, according to a company notice to the BSE.

Limited cure option

Alzheimer’s disease has a significant unmet medical need for which current treatment options are insufficient.

Suven has a number of discovery programs in the area of cognition, focusing on novel approaches that may lead to the development of new therapies for patients.

Suven’s CNS drug discovery scientists at Hyderabad, India are pursuing innovative ways to develop treatments for a variety of Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders like Alzheimer’s, schizophrenia, depression, cognitive disorders, sleep, neurodegeneration and obesity through CNS targets.
