Call for cashew processing unit

Pudukottai, July 7

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has urged the State Government to set up a cashew processing industry for an assured returns for the farmers of Gandarvakottai in the district. A resolution adopted at its district executive meeting held at Gandarvakottai here recently, referred to the vast area of cashew brought under the cash-crop in the periphery. Cashew growers would benefit in a big way through an assured returns, if the State Government set up a processing industry, the resolution said.
