Virgin Mobile to expand reach

Hyderabad, July 11 Virgin Mobile India, a sub-brand mobile telephony service offered under Tata Teleservices Ltd, is aiming to reach out to 1,000 towns before December this year, while also stepping up retail footprint. Within three months, Virgin Mobile, part of Sir Richard Branson’s $24-billion diversified Virgin Group, has expanded its services into over 50 cities offering CDMA-based wireless services.

The Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Mobile India, Mr M.A. Madhusudhan, said it has had encouraging response from youth. Virgin Mobile has over 15 million subscribers globally and is looking at garnering 10 per cent market share of the youth segment in India.
