Zensar bags Kotak Mahindra Bank contract

Pune, July 11 Zensar Technologies, IT and BPO services provider, has announced a centralised customer relationship management centre for Kotak Mahindra Bank. The centre located here would cater to activities such as customer acquisition, customer service, collections and retention of Kotak’s recently-launched credit card product range.

Talking to presspersons, Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Zensar, and Mr Subrat Pani, Business Head, Credit Cards, Kotak Mahindra Bank, said the operations commenced with 20 associates in April 2008 and has now been scaled up to 250. The centre would be scaled up to 500 by the fiscal end.

The centre would support Kotak’s cards business across 10 cities in the country. Dr Ganesh said it would also look at business continuity by setting up a 100-seater functional centre at its Hyderabad facility, which is expected to be operational by October this year.

The Hyderabad facility would also address the needs of Bangalore, Chennai, and Coimbatore besides Hyderabad. This is the first domestic account for Zensar in the BPO space. He said Zensar had started its domestic focus about six months back. Initially, it would be a three-year contract and would bring in Rs 5 crore as revenue in the first year.

Mr Pani said the credit card business was launched in April and the bank was looking at acquiring 1.5 million customers within the next three years.

The cities targeted include Bangalore, New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, Bangalore,Chennai, Coimbatore and Kolkata.
