Star India appointment

New Delhi, July 14

Star India, which plans to launch Bengali, Gujarati and Marathi television channels, has chosen Mr J.C. Giri to head the portfolio of regional channels. Mr Giri has been appointed Executive Vice-President and GM – Regional Channels, the company said in an announcement. “Mr Giri takes charge of our planned portfolio of regional channels in Bengali, Gujarati and Marathi. He will be responsible for the timely and successful launches of these channels, in line with the high standards of any new launch from the STAR stable,” said Mr Uday Shankar, CEO, STAR India.
