Travel portal to offer air booking in regional languages

Our Bureau

New Delhi, July 16

Within the next three months passengers fluent in Tamil and Telugu will be able to book their air domestic tickets in their preferred language rather than in English.

On Wednesday, the travel portal ezeego1 announced it would be offering visitors to its site the option of booking air tickets initially in various other regional languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati, within the next one year.

Addressing a press conference to announce the launch of hindi.ezeego1.com, here on Wednesday the Chief Operating Officer, Ms Neelu Singh, said that initially the site will only offer domestic air tickets.

“Customers comfortable in Hindi can now book their domestic tickets in the language of their choice. We will expand the offering which will be available to the regional language visitors also so that they can book the entire range of products, including hotel bookings, tours, transportation and insurance, among others,” Ms Singh said.

The decision to start by offering domestic air tickets to regional language visitors to the site has been taken as most regional travellers prefer to travel domestically rather than abroad, Ms Singh said.

The Web site which gets between 15 lakh and 30 lakh daily visitors is hoping that the decision to provide content in regional languages will see an increase in the number of daily hits.

Ezeego1 has been promoted by the promoters of Cox & Kings.
