Samsung’s new LCD monitors

New Delhi, July 16

In a bid to strengthen its IT peripherals business in India, Samsung on Wednesday launched three new LCD monitor series, and forayed into two new product segments — digital projectors and digital photo frames. “The company expects to sell 1.2 million units of LCD monitors during 2008 against 600,000 units in the previous year,” the Samsung India Electronics VP-IT Business, Mr Sanjay Sharma, said. The company also announced its plans to expand its IT chann el this year, including setting up of dedicated IT brand shops. The company expects to open 10 IT brand stores over the coming 6-8 months that would sell all IT products in the company’s stable. The Samsung digital photo frame is priced at Rs 9,900. The company also plans to launch Wi-Fi- enabled photo frames by the second quarter of this fiscal which would allow users to share photographs instantly.
