“Skills interchange”

The editorial “Skills interchange” has aptly remarked that “Expatriate labour should be as welcome as foreign capital is, as it too will reset productivity standards and bring all-round advantages (Business Line, July 17).

But at the same time, one feels, it is imperative that they enjoy good political climate too (besides, of course, adequate compensation in wages for their labour) in India.

A bad political environment can dampen their (expatriates’) enthusiasm to stay in the country for a long period and contribute their mite to the economic progress of the country.
