Gujarat to host global pharma exhibition in March 2009

Ahmedabad, July 17 A three-day global pharmaceutical and chemical exhibition will be organised here in March 2009 under the aegis of Vibrant Gujarat to showcase India’s booming industry and prepare the ground for its interaction with global giants.

Christened as InformEx-2009, the event is being hosted outside the US for the first time since its inception 25 years ago. InformEx is a premier networking event of the US for the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. In India, it is expected to provide the industry an international platform and networking for the first time. There will be a conclave of CEOs of chemical and pharmaceutical industries during Vibrant Gujarat-2009, to be followed byInformEx-2009. This is expected to put Gujarat on international chemicals and pharmaceuticals map in an effort to maximise productivity and promote networking with the aim of building a Brand Gujarat.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed here on Thursday between the Gujarat Government, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry and UBM Business Media Plc in the presence of Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mr Jay Narayan Vyas. Mr Pankaj Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, Cadila Healthcare Ltd (Zydus Cadila), is the Chairman of Advisory Committee of InformEx-2009, to be held from March 12 to 14. About 150 companies and 8,000 industry personnel are expected to visit the exhibition from across the world.
