Performance India unit case sales keep the fizz for Coke in Q2 Our Bureau New Delhi, July 17 India continues to be among the better performing markets for beverage giant Coca-Cola with high single digit unit case (5.7 litres) volume sales. This is the eight consecutive quarter of volume growth for the company. Solid unit case (24 bottles of 300 ml each) volume growth in India, Turkey, West Asia, Eastern Europe and Southern Eurasia helped Coca-Cola record a 30 per cent growth in the region in net revenues for the second quarter ending June 30, the company said. Unit case volume for Eurasia grew 7 per cent. Operating income for the quarter was at 21 per cent for the market. Worldwide unit case volume increased 3 per cent in the quarter. “Our results were once again led by our international operations, which delivered 5 per cent unit case volume growth, and we maintained volume in North America despite significant challenges. “Latin America continues to be a key contributor to our results, along with solid performance in many of our emerging markets including China, Turkey, India, Eastern Europe, Southern Eurasia, North and West Africa and West Asia,” said Mr Muhtar Kent, President and Chief Executive Officer, Coca-Cola in a statement. There was no growth in unit case volume in North America during the quarter, while unit case volume in Japan and the European Union Group were each down 1 per cent.
