Live bomb defused in Bangalore

Our Bureau

Bangalore, July 26 Just as Bangalore was getting back to normalcy after a series of bomb blasts rocked the city on Friday afternoon, the city police found a live bomb near a large shopping mall in Koramangala on Saturday.

The explosive with a microchip, detonator and ammonium nitrate mixed with some oil, found in a ‘bucket-shaped’ object, was defused by the bomb disposal squad.

The bomb was ‘identical’ to the ones used in the serial explosions, said Mr Shankar M. Bidari, Commissioner of Police, Bangalore.

The Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, said that investigations were on to track down those responsible for the serial blasts.
