Piracy Spurious Saridon tablets seized Mumbai, July 27 A private investigating agency has raided and seized seven lakh spurious Saridon tablets from Solan in Himachal Pradesh, Dr Swati Piramal of Piramal Healthcare, told Business Line. Popular pain relief and headache medicine Saridon is an over Rs 20-crore over-the-counter brand from Piramal Healthcare. The packaging was copied and it is the same story every time, Dr Piramal explained. Piramal Healthcare manufactures its own medicines and take anti-spurious measures such as marking bottles, she added. The seized medicines were spelt ‘Siridon’ and ‘Seridon’, and written in a manner similar to the way Saridon is printed on the original blister pack, said Mr Harinder Sikka, also from Piramal Healthcare. The company that was raided has a plant in Hyderabad in addition to Solan, he added. – Our Bureau More Stories on : Piracy | Pharmaceuticals
